Switched from the big chain

I used to do my shop at the big chain but switched over to this site after a friend recommended it. The fresh produce is noticeably better quality than what I was getting elsewhere and the order matches what I chose. I've not looked back since.

way quicker than the big chain

Way quicker than going to the big chain, I just tap a few things and it's done. Bought a pack of loo roll and some energy drinks and they showed up the same evening. App is decent too.

Slot was a faff

Signing up took longer than I thought because it kept asking me to confirm my postcode twice. The delivery itself was fine but the slot I wanted was gone so I had to take a Thursday evening one instead. Delivery charge is a bit higher than the other sites I checked, so it's not the cheapest for a one-off shop.

Fine for the price

Fine for the price, but the delivery slot I wanted was booked up so I had to take a later one and the chilled items were only just cold. Pricing on the basics is competitive. Substitutions on the fresh produce were a bit random though, I got cherry tomatoes instead of plum.

the swap messages saved my bacon

Got a message saying my full fat milk was out and they'd swapped it for semi skimmed, with a reason, and I could say no before the picker went ahead. Saves me a bit of money on the weekly shop, and I don't end up with things I didn't want.

really easy to use

Honestly one of the easiest grocery sites I've used. Ordered a Friday night slot on my phone during the bus ride home and it was sorted in like two minutes. Stuff turned up on time too.

better than my old site

Compared with the other grocery site I used to use, this one lets me see the full list of substitutes before I confirm, which I really like. Checkout took a few minutes to find my saved address but it's been fine since. Everything arrived on the day.

decent but pricier

I looked at two other grocery sites before choosing this one and the delivery charge here is higher. The ordering itself is clear and the stuff I got was fine. Nothing wrong with it but I'd probably only use it when I'm in a rush.

three items missing

Ordered a big weekly shop to save money and three items were missing when it arrived, including the washing up liquid and two tins. Their refund came through but it took nearly a week to show on my card. The prices were fine compared to the bigger chains but this left a sour taste.

Ordered the bread maker

I ordered the bread maker and the bread flour bundle a few weeks ago and they came together, which I was grateful for. The website was a little slow to load the basket page on my tablet but once I got through checkout everything went smoothly. The kneading paddle arrived slightly bent, though I'm sure that's just how it was packed. I did have to ring them about it and they were very helpful, sending a replacement within the week.

The click and collect

I went with the click and collect option this time rather than delivery, mainly because it was cheaper than the other places I'd checked. The bay was easy to find and they had my bags out within a couple of minutes. The only thing is the window closes early in the evening so I had to rush.

the unit prices

The unit prices on the product pages were what caught my eye first, you can compare per 100g straight away. I tried two other sites before this one and the basket total came out lower here for the same items. Had a bit of a wait for a delivery slot but I got one for the Thursday.

Needed a last minute shop

We had people coming round last minute and needed a proper shop fast. Compared a few apps and this had the earliest slot. Got everything we needed and it arrived on time.

better than the supermarket queue

Before this I was going to the big supermarket on the bus and lugging everything home. Now I use the site for my fortnightly shop and I can compare the prices side by side with the offers. Saves me a whole morning every time and I've not had a bad delivery yet.

Good value

Good value for a regular shop. The loyalty points add up if you order every week. Only niggle is the minimum spend for free delivery is higher than I'd like.

My monthly shop every week

I've been ordering my weekly food shop from them for about six years now, mostly the big bag of salad leaves, the wholemeal bread and the family pack of chicken thighs. The substitutions they pick are usually sensible and the driver is always polite.

the substitution messages

The substitution messages are what stood out to me, they tell you why an item has been swapped and let you decline it before the picker goes ahead. I've used a few grocery sites and this one is the clearest about it. Had one bag come with the wrong size of milk though, a litre instead of two pints.

Needed it for my dad

I needed to set up a regular order for my dad, who can't get out since his stroke and lives two hours away from me. Signing up for his account was straightforward and I could add my own email as the contact. The first delivery came on the morning I'd picked and the driver helped carry things in. He's been well looked after and I can see exactly what's been sent.

Needed a birthday cake

I needed a birthday cake delivered to my sister's on short notice, so I booked the slot through the site on the Friday. The order form asked a lot of questions but the cake came in one piece and on time. Price was a bit more than the local bakery but the convenience made up for it.

Needed it after the operation

I needed a delivery service after my hip operation as I could not get to the shops for a few weeks. My daughter set the account up for me and it has been very reliable since. The staff on the phone were patient when I had questions about my order and the drivers always carried the bags in for me.
